This is a kit of a few everyday kitchen essentials that I have in my own kitchen and use quite literally all the time.
My intention in selecting these particular products is to provide you with sustainable, eco-friendly alternatives to appliances and tools you may already have in your kitchen. If you don’t already have them, think about getting them. Make your kitchen a bit safer and “greener”.

I’ve never been a fan of those conventional counter sprays after I learned what ingredients were in them. Many have VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and carcinogens. Composting is another practice I’ve gotten into the habit of. You’d be surprised how much organic, compostable waste you produce in your kitchen. Everything from food scraps to paper napkins can be composted, instead of tossed in the trash. If you’re in a city, you can find a local farmer’s market to give your compost to, or if you have a garden or lawn of your own, you can mix it in with your soil. This bin is my favorite.

Along with your compost bin, it’s easiest to use a bin liner. Instead of using PET-based bags, I found liners made form corn starch. These bags are biodegradable and provide an eco-friendly alternative to the conventional plastic liners.
