We’ll say it right off the bat: paper towels and one-time-use, disposable napkins suck.

In our opinion, they suck for two primary — and very important — reasons: one, they produce unnecessary and easily avoidable waste, and, two, they cost you a relatively large sum of money. In terms of the former reason, the solution is easy; we recommend using reusable, eco friendly dish towels, hand drying cloths, and dinner napkins. All three of these zero waste alternatives can be thrown in the wash along with the rest of your clothes when they get dirty — this way you can keep using them and you won’t have to keep throwing out paper. In terms of the latter reason, let’s do some math. Your standard 6 rolls of paper towels costs about $8. Let’s say you go through one roll every two weeks (this is about average, try it for yourself) — by this point, you’d have thrown out all 6 rolls in 3 months. In one year then, you would’ve spent roughly $32 on paper towels. Guess what. Reusable kitchen towels that we bought for about $12 have been going strong for over 1.5 years — and we haven’t produced any new trash as a result. 🙂

Below you’ll find 3 options for eco friendly, reusable dish towels; 3 options for reusable hand drying towels; and three reusable dinner napkins to replace disposable paper napkins. Making the switch isn’t hard. Seriously.
